Local Market Management and Booking System Best Practice Research
SDS have recently completed a best practice research project on local market management and booking systems on behalf of Gravesham Borough Council, for Gravesend Borough Market. Gravesham Borough Council identified an opportunity to provide a better customer experience and improve the efficiency of processing new market traders, operating the market and collecting payments, with a digital solution.
SDS researched different markets nationally to understand the best practices of market management. The research then contributed to outlining potential requirements for a market management and booking system. The SDS team also mapped customer journeys to identify the user needs.
SDS then approached potential software providers. We researched a variety of software providers, some were accredited by the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA), others were smaller, independent providers as well as systems capable of integrating several services. This meant that Gravesham Borough Council gained a full coverage overview of the marketplace and what is on offer.
