Website accessibility regulations came into force on 23 September 2018. This means that public sector bodies have a legal obligation to meet accessibility requirements for their websites.
To check how well public sector bodies are meeting the requirements, the Government Digital Service (GDS), part of the Cabinet Office, is monitoring a sample of public sector websites.
Their article covers the tools they will be using and an idea of what sample content they may be testing. It’s really good information to assist you with your accessibility efforts, so please take advantage of this extra knowledge.
